Today is National Slow Down Day 2018 in ROI - Gardai to conduct crackdown on speeding motorists over 24 hours
There were 157 road deaths in 2017, the lowest on record, gardai said - but added that it 'is still 157 road deaths too many'. Gardai will conduct a special crackdown on speeding motoristsas part of National Slow Down Day this week.
The 24-hour road safety initiativewill take place from 7am on Friday, October 19 to 7am on Saturday, October 20.
