Record numbers at InterTradeIreland’s Venture Capital Conference reflect ambition of entrepreneurs on the island
A record number of delegates attended this year’s in-person Venture Capital Conference in Croke Park, Dublin. The theme of the day “Resilience and Creativity” brought together a crowd of more than 500 attendees comprising entrepreneurs, Venture Capitalists, business angels, other investors and start-ups seeking funding.
Commenting on the event and networking opportunity, Isabelle O’Keefe of Sure Valley Ventures pointed out, "This is one the largest events for the Venture Capital community on the island. The number of people that turned up today really highlights the level of cross-border collaboration, which elevates the entire eco-system. That flow of information helps get more companies investor ready."

Co-Innovate programme achievements celebrated at closing event
A celebratory event was held to mark the close of the Interreg funded Co-Innovate programme in Killeavy Castle, Newry, on Tuesday 28th February. The event gathered partner agency representatives from across Northern Ireland, Ireland and Scotland to celebrate the programme’s key achievements and showcased some of the 1,400 companies that have benefitted to date.
The event was attended by the Northern Ireland Deputy Permanent Secretary Shane Murphy, with Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Simon Coveney T.D, Scottish Minister for Just Transition, Employment and Fair Work Richard Lochead and CEO of Scottish Enterprise, Adrian Gillespie joining by video address.

Joint Statement on U.S. Ireland Science and Technology Cooperation
Officials from the United States, Ireland, and Northern Ireland gathered on 14th March at the Department of State for the 27th meeting of the U.S.- Ireland Research and Development Partnership (U.S.- I R&D Partnership) Steering Group.
The U.S.- I R&D Partnership discussions covered collaboration in research and development areas including: nanoscale science and engineering, sensors and sensor networks, telecommunications, energy and sustainability, cybersecurity, health, and agriculture. Participants also discussed further areas of mutual interest for future co-operation, including potential supports to help commercialise the research stemming from the Partnership.

Cross-Border Workers on the Island of Ireland - Research study
The Economic and Social Research Institute on behalf of the Government of Ireland's Department of Finance, is conducting a study on cross-border workers in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The study is collecting information on cross-border workers to better understand who is crossing the border for work and why.
The survey contains approximately 30 questions and will take less than 10 minutes to complete. All responses must be submitted by the closing date on 11th April 2023.
