Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 2 2018-2020 Work Programme
All-Island Information Day & Partnering Event
InterTradeIreland, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & the Marine, the Marine Institute and the Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs invite you to a Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 2 (Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine, maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy) event aimed at supporting collaboration across Ireland and Northern Ireland and across Europe.
The event will promote:
- the funding opportunities available for each SC2 thematic area (Sustainable Food Security, Blue Growth & Rural Renaissance)
- a focus on collaboration as delegates will be offered the chance to promote their expertise and also look for the expertise they require to build future partnerships
Since June 2016, the eligibility of UK partners to apply remains the same, and in addition, the UK Treasury has agreed to underwrite all UK participation including Horizon 2020 proposals that are awaiting evaluation after the date of BREXIT. As a result, this event will provide an excellent opportunity to scope out the potential to create cross-border partnerships.
**Special Opportunity
Existing North South partnerships that are actively planning to coordinate a future SC2 proposal can also apply for the NI & IE partners involved (maximum 2) to benefit from a 2-day pre-submission training boot camp that will take place soon after the event. Indicative dates for the 2 day-workshop are 27th to 30th November 2017, 4th to 6th December and 13th to 15th December. If you are free for 2 days across on any of these dates and would like your partnership to be considered please email horizon2020@intertradeireland.com.
Who should attend:
Industry, researchers and organisations seeking funding for research, innovation and coordination and support activities across all of the SC2 thematic areas.
Delegates can expect:
- to hear from the European Commission, National Experts and successful Horizon 2020 applicants to SC2
- pointers and tips on achieving success in Horizon 2020
- valuable insights on topics around the Societal Challenge 2 to be funded by the EU in 2018 and 2019; with some premliminary indications for 2020
