Brexit Advisory Service Launched
 

We are pleased to announce our new advisory service aimed at helping SMEs navigate the challenges of Brexit. 

Businesses will be able to access a raft of supports through the Brexit Advisory Service, including

  • Brexit Readiness Vouchers, which they can use to fund bespoke advice up the value of one thousand Euro;
  • Free Brexit briefing events;
  • Information on currency hedging and
  • A unique assesment that focuses on building value, should Brexit lead to cost increases through the introduction of tariffs. 

Recent research conducted by InterTradeIreland revealed 98 per cent of companies have no plan in place to deal with the consequences of Brexit, with 91 per cent of cross-border traders having no experience of dealing with tariffs. InterTradeIreland in conjunction with its partner organisations is holding a Local Government Supplier Engagement event. This event is aimed at SMEs interested in tendering their services or products to local authorities in Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland.

Businesses will get an opportunity to meet procurement representatives face to face and to hear from them directly about their specific requirements and upcoming opportunities.

The event is free to attend with registration from 8.15am and closing at 1.30pm.

Inspirefest 2017 is happening 6-8 July in the the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre Dublin and on Friday 7 July, Astia investors will be hosting a special one-off Entrepreneur Showcase.

CITB NI is providing a series of short seminars on a range of topical business issues. These seminars are being delivered by industry experts, giving attendees a detailed overview of the subject area and the practicalities of dealing with these issues in the construction industry.

The European Structural & Investment Funds support economic development across all of the European Union.

These Funds make up over half of the European Union’s budget. Here in Ireland these funds will be used, together with Irish Government and Local Authority funding, to invest €6.2 Billion in the 2014-2020 period.

In April 2014 Declan McBride teamed up with Michael Heaslip and Food Stories to launch Pop Notch a gourmet popcorn business.

Pop Notch is Gluten Free, made with natural ingredients and they use a special kind of Argentinian mushroom corn to produce extra-large popcorn pieces which lock in the flavour. .

The company exports their product to the Republic of Ireland and across Europe, including to the UK, France, Denmark, Iceland and the Netherlands.

Managing Director, Declan McBride explains how they began exporting to the Republic of Ireland and what support they have received along the way. He also shares his experiences of the challenges and benefits of breaking into this market.
